Posting your work

1. 1Press Create and choose Demo.
2. 2Upload the file. It uploads in the background and survives a dropped connection, so you can leave the page once the bar has started.
3. 3Give it a title, and a description if there is anything worth saying about it.
4. 4Tag the genre and the instrument that are actually in this clip, not the ones on your profile. They can be different and often should be.
5. 5If two or more tags apply, mark which one leads. That is the tag shown on the card everywhere else in the app.

Demos

Up to 500 MB per file, video or audio.

Release masters

Up to 1 GB, for tracks you are selling.

Venue photos

Up to 25 MB.

Cover images

Up to 10 MB, for gigs and collabs.

Profile photo

Up to 5 MB.

If a file is refused you are told before the upload starts rather than after it has run. A file over the limit needs to be exported smaller — there is no way to raise the cap from your side.

There is no separate upload for Shorts. Post a clip that is taller than it is wide and it becomes playable in the full-screen Shorts player as well as sitting on your profile. Landscape clips stay in the demo rails.

Original means the work is yours. Cover means it is your take on somebody else's song. Marking a cover is not a disclaimer — it is a discovery route. Covers of the same song are grouped, so people who came for that song find your version.

Name the song and the original artist in the title and the card will show what you are covering without anybody having to press play.

Most things carry an owner menu — the three dots — with Edit and Delete on it. Demos, posts, events, playlists, venues, bands, concerts and collabs all work that way.

Video demos can carry an audio version. Tick the option when you upload and we render one, which puts a Video/Audio toggle on the player. Switching keeps your place rather than restarting.

It is worth doing for anything where the sound is the point. People listen to a lot more of a track than they watch of a video.
